OCHO is a photographic series developed in tandem with Rafael Bonachela's work of the same name for Sydney Dance Company.
Whilst Bonachela developed the dance work in the company's Walsh Bay studios, I collaborated with each dancer in an adjacent studio to capture the essence of their individual solos featured in the performance. The most crucial element was choreographing both the camera's and my own movement to sync with the dancer's. Some moves also required very precise timing of the lighting. As a result, each image in this series is straight out of camera, with no photoshop or post processing other than small tweaks of contrast & saturation.
